Homemade cashew milk smoothie

Cashews have always been a favorite of mine. Furthermore, they can actually be turned into a nice milk that is lower in fat than most other nut based milks. As an example, it’s a nice alternative to almond milk and coconut milk.

The following recipe takes advantage of that fact, plus turns a yummy milk into an even yummier smoothie.


This recipe serves 2:

For the cashew milk:

  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • 1 cup soaked cashews
  • Cheesecloth

For the smoothie:

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 cup cashew milk
  • 2 dates
  • 1 ripe pear
  • 1/3 cup cashews
  • 1 tsp vanilla flavor


  1. To make the cashew milk, soak 1 cup cashews in hot water for an hour. Remove the water you used for soaking the cashews and use 1 cup of cold filtered water and blend it well in a mixer. Once you have it properly mixed, you will need to use the cheesecloth to filter the milk. This way you will get an amazingly smooth and silky milk.
  2. Combine the cashews, cashews milk, dates, pears, and mix well.
  3. Serve and enjoy 🙂
