Sun Basket Mango Parsley Smoothie

Taste or health? That’s a common trade off we must make. However this smoothie from Sun Basket has both.

One somewhat unusual ingredient is parsley and it provides much more than nice decoration on your plate. Parsley contains two unique health benefits. It’s an excellent source of vitamin K and vitamin C as well as a good source of vitamin A, folate and iron.

But it certainly doesn’t stop there…. Parsley’s volatile oil components also include myristicin, limonene, eugenol and alpha-thujene. Its flavonoids include apiin, apigenin, crisoeriol and luteolin.


The ingredients in this recipe serves two people

  • Fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup frozen mango pieces
  • 3 tablespoons raw almonds


  1. Prepare the parsley by stripping the parsley leaves from the stems.
  2. Put all ingredients (almond milk, mango, almonds, parsley and maple syup) in a blender together with one cup of ice. Season it lightly with salt and blend until it’s smooth.
  3. Serve in glasses and enjoy! 🙂
